Lori Felix grew up on Long Island, New York. Her art education began
at age sixteen working from the model, and sculpting in stone. After high
school, she attended the Art Students League, in New York where she studied
figure painting and mural design. After extensive work at the Art Students
League, Lori left New York and traveled the nation with the Renaissance
Festival, nurturing her lifelong fascination with the textures, colors and forms
found in nature.
After extensive travels across the United States and Mexico, painting murals,
and doing custom interiors in private homes, restaurants, and salons, Lori
wanted to settle down and develop her art. She had been wintering with other
Renaissance Festival travelers in Magnolia, Mississippi, a tiny historic
community that became her home in 2000.
Lori uses multiple materials and objects from nature, including the feminine
form to inspire her harmonious, flowing compositions of texture, color, line and
shape. Her work is an effort to make people aware of what’s around them. Life
and beauty can be found everywhere, and Lori wants to inspire and awaken the
world to the beauty of life and nature.
